Frederick H. Reeder

Background

Frederick H. Reeder is an Associate in Cummings & Lockwood’s Private Clients Group and is based in the firm’s West Hartford office.

He drafts a broad range of estate planning documents for high net worth individuals and families, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies and living wills, to protect his client’s assets and legacies.  He also assists clients with the estate and probate administration process.

Prior to joining Cummings and Lockwood, Fred served as an FBI Special Agent for over 21 years before retiring in January 2024.   During his tenure at the FBI he investigated both criminal and national security matters and was decorated with the FBI Shield of Bravery and the Combat Theater Award.  Fred deployed to Iraq where he worked on the Regime Crimes Liaison Office (RCLO) assisting the Iraqi authorities in prosecuting members of the former regime.  Fred serves as a JAG Officer in the United States Army Reserve (USAR) where he has prepared estate planning documents for deploying servicemembers and represented soldiers accused of misconduct.
