Cummings & Lockwood Welcomes New Private Clients Attorney, Samuel F. Blatt, in the Firm’s West Hartford Office

Cummings & Lockwood LLC is pleased to announce that Samuel F. Blatt has joined Cummings & Lockwood’s Private Clients Group as an Associate in the Firm’s West Hartford office.
Prior to joining Cummings & Lockwood, Sam worked for Nirenstein, Horowitz & Associates, P.C., an elder law firm in Glastonbury, Connecticut, for six years. While there, he held various positions, including Paralegal, Paralegal Supervisor and, most recently, Associate attorney.
Sam has experience representing a diverse group of private clients in the development of comprehensive estate plans designed to address his client’s tax, long-term care and special needs goals. Additionally, Sam has experience managing a significant caseload of estate and trust administration matters, with estates ranging in values from $100,000 to $15+ million. He has also helped clients navigate and successfully apply for Medicaid benefits.
Sam received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in May 2019 where he was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his work with the School’s Elder Law Clinic in 2017; his ABA-Approved Certificate of Paralegal Studies from the University of Hartford in May 2013; and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut in May 2012 where he was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
Sam and his wife Stephanie reside in West Hartford, Connecticut.
