In this video, Daniel P. Fitzgerald, a Principal in Cummings & Lockwood’s Private Clients Group, discusses the Directed Trust Act which is part of the new trust legislation in Connecticut. Effective on January 1, 2020, the Directed Trust Act allows the traditional roles held by a Trustee to be divided among various parties, opening the door to a variety of more flexible planning opportunities not previously available in Connecticut.
