Robert B. Fawber joined Cummings & Lockwood in 1996 as Counsel in the Private Clients Group of the Hartford office.  He is now a Principal in the Firm’s West Hartford office where his primary areas of practice are estate planning, estate settlement, trust administration and residential real estate transactions, with an emphasis on planning with real property and qualified retirement plan assets.

Prior to joining the Firm, Robert practiced real estate, estate planning, and general business law in the Hartford area from 1975 to 1996.

He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1975 and his B.A. from Trinity College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Robert is a Adjunct Professor of Law at Quinnipiac University School of Law, in Hamden, Connecticut, where he teaches a course on federal estate and gift taxation.  He is also a member of the American and Connecticut Bar Associations and the Hartford Estate and Business Planning Council.  Robert has served as a member of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Seabury Charitable Foundation.  He is a past senior warden of St. James's Episcopal Church in West Hartford and has served as chairperson of its Planned Giving Committee and as a member of its Vestry.  Robert has also been a member of the Commission on Ministry, the Gift Planning Committee, the Committee on Constitution and Canons, and the Screening Committee on Ministerial Vocations, of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut.
