Rachel Withington joined Cummings & Lockwood as an associate in the Stamford Private Clients Group in 2007.  Rachel focuses her practice on estate and tax planning for individuals and families through the use of wills, trusts and business entities.  She also has experience in estate administration, trust administration and planning for international clients.  Rachel is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York and New Hampshire and she is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the New Hampshire Bar Association.

Rachel attended San Francisco State University where she received her B.A. in Geography and Human Environmental Studies, cum laude, in 2002.  Rachel received her J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2007.  During law school Rachel assisted Professor Willbanks with updating and revising the second edition of the Federal Taxation of Wealth Transfers textbook and received Academic Excellence Awards in both Estate and Gift Taxation and Commercial Transactions.  In addition, Rachel interned with Vermont and New Hampshire counsel with practice areas in family law, trusts and estates and business succession planning.
