STAMFORD, CT, September 10, 2009 - Cummings & Lockwood LLC is pleased to announce that Bruce B. Wood has joined the firm as a Principal in the Commercial Group resident in the Stamford office.  Mr. Wood chairs the Firm’s corporate practice group and concentrates on M&A and other business transactions, securities offerings and investment transactions, and public company representation.  Mr. Wood represents public and private companies in mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations and similar business transactions, and counsels private equity sponsors in connection with their investment activities.  He also advises issuers and selling stockholders in public and private offerings of securities, and represents venture capital and hedge fund investors in their investment transactions.  In addition, he provides advice and guidance to public companies on governance and compliance issues, including matters requiring special investigations.

 

Mr. Wood was admitted to practice in New York in 1982 and is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he serves on the Corporation Law Committee.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association.  Mr. Wood received his B.A. from Hamilton College in 1978 and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1981.  Prior to joining Cummings & Lockwood, Mr. Wood was a partner at Dechert LLP in New York City.
