Mary Beth Crawford, a principal in the Bonita Springs office has been chosen by the Women's Foundation of Collier County as one of the 2017 Women of Initiative.

The Women's Foundation of Collier County (WFCC), a fund at the Community Foundation of Collier County, has announced the 2017 Women of Initiative.  Each spring, the Women's Foundation of Collier County honors ten local women leaders who, through their leadership styles, are an inspiration to all women seeking to make a difference through philanthropy and civic engagement.  185 women have been honored since 1998.

The 2017 honorees are: Penny Allyn, Dusti Beaubien, Susan Reed Benson, Mary Beth Crawford, Kathy Feinstein, Kimberly Leach Johnson, Susie McCurry, Kathleen Peck, Diana Riley, and Kathryn Woods.

The 2017 Women of Initiative will be recognized for their achievements during the annual Women of Initiative Luncheon to be held on March 31, 2017 at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples Beach Resort.  Videos featuring each honoree will be shown at the event.

The Women's Foundation of Collier County has been granting funds for women and girls since 1999 to local nonprofit organizations in the areas of health and safety, at-risk teens, basic needs, and senior women.  In just the past four years, WFCC has granted $299,125.  This year, the Women's Foundation focused its grant making on supporting three organizations with larger impact grants including:

Naples Senior Center of JFCS of Southwest Florida - $25,000

Meals of Hope - $15,000

Junior Women of Initiative at The Boys &Girls Club of Collier County - $7,500

"These women are an inspiration to us all," said Bev Cherry, Steering Committee Chair, Women's Foundation of Collier County.  "Through their leadership, innovation, passion, and dedication of time and talent, they have helped bring awareness and significantly impact issues facing at-risk women and girls our community."
