Laura Weintraub Beck is a Principal resident in the Greenwich, Connecticut, office of Cummings & Lockwood where she is a member of the Private Clients Group.  Laura focuses her practice on estate planning, including business succession planning and planning for real estate holdings, estate administration, probate litigation and trust administration.  In addition, Laura is in charge of attorney training at Cummings & Lockwood.

Prior to joining the Firm, she was associated with the New York City law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher.  Laura is a member of the Executive Committee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Committee on Continuing Legal Education.  She also is a member of the American Bar Association, the Trusts & Estates section of the New York State Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of New York City.  She is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York.

Laura received her B.A. from Trinity College in 1992 and an M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1995.  She earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2000, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, contributing author and editor of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems and a winner of the Emil Schlessinger Labor Law Prize.  Prior to attending law school, Laura worked for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee drafting reports and legislation relating to crime and drug policies.

Laura was a 2009 recipient of the Fairfield County Business Journal “40 under 40” Award which recognizes extraordinary business leadership and success in the field of law.  She is on the Board of Directors of the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, an organization which provides mental health services to children, is a member of the Fairfield County Community Foundation's Professional Advisors Council and is a member of the Alumni Council of New Canaan Country School.
