Karen Wackerman Myers joined Cummings & Lockwood in 2008 as Counsel in the Commercial Group resident in the Stamford office.  She is a graduate of Smith College and a cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School, where she was Executive Comments Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review.  Ms. Myers concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate law, banking law and securities law.  She represents business clients, providing advice on day-to-day legal issues and providing legal support for their business transactions.  Ms. Myers also represents lenders and borrowers in commercial and private lending transactions, and investment advisers in their formation and the formation of private funds, including hedge funds, and provides them with ongoing compliance advice.

Ms. Myers previously practiced corporate law for ten years at the law firm of Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam and Roberts (now known as Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman) in its New York City and Stamford offices, and for five years at the law firm of Cohen and Wolf in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  She was also Assistant Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Connecticut School of Law.  Ms. Myers is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, and is a member of the Connecticut, New York and American Bar Associations, the Association for Corporate Growth and Fairfield Network of Executive Women.  She is active in community organizations and is currently Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nursing and Home Care, Inc. and was previously a member of the Inland Wetlands Commission of the Town of Wilton.
