Howard S. Tuthill III | Principal Download V-Card
Howard S. Tuthill III ("Terry") is co-Chair of the Private Client’s Group and focuses his practice on estate planning and administration with particular emphasis on estate and gift tax planning for large family groups and senior executives of major corporations, transfer of family wealth planning and succession planning for closely held businesses and estates and trust administration. He joined Cummings & Lockwood in 1993 after practicing for 14 years with the New York law firm of Kelley Drye & Warren, and seven years with the Connecticut law firm of Cross, Brodrick & Chipman. Mr. Tuthill graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1969 and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1972. He is a frequent writer and guest lecturer on a variety of estate planning topics, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the American Bar Association and Connecticut Bar Association. He is the past chair of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, member of the Uniform Laws Committee of the Estates and Probate Section, a Regent and immediate past Connecticut state chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and has served as an adjunct professor teaching estate planning at the Yale University School of Law in New Haven, Connecticut.
