Howard Tuthill | Principal Download V-Card
Howard S. Tuthill is a graduate of the University of Virginia and its Law School where he was editor-in-chief of the Virginia Law Review. He began his career in New York with Davis, Polk & Wardwell in 1941 and served four years on active duty as a commander in the United States Naval Reserve, returning to Davis, Polk in 1946. He joined Cummings & Lockwood in 1950 and has focused primarily in estates, trusts and personal tax law, with extensive involvement in asset management as executor and trustee of numerous estates and trusts. Howard was a member of the Trust Board of Citibank until the Board was dissolved in 1972. He served as a director of McGraw-Hill, Inc., from 1974 to 1989. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Under his guidance the firm has expanded its Private Clients Group to one of the largest in the country comprising more than fifty attorneys practicing out of five offices in Connecticut and Florida. Howard divides his time between the firm's Stamford and Naples offices. | |||||
